About the Job* Ensure databases are ready to meet study needs and are both accurate and in accordance with defined standards for allocated studies.* Ensure deliverables are produced in a timely and accurate manner and are in accordance with defined standards.* Peer review of others work, providing feedback and training as appropriate.* Manage a team of Database Programmers to include managing performance and career development via the PMD process, regular catch-ups and status meetings ensuring that all employees are aware of objectives at all times. * Provide constructive feedback on an ongoing basis.* Provide or organize training to staff on project-specific, local, or global processes either in the form of mentoring or as ad hoc training.* Manage administrative requirements for employees (e.g., holiday planning, timesheets, and absence records).* Aid in the recruitment process by reviewing applicants for positions and conducting interviews as appropriate.* Interact and collaborate with internal and external customers in any department within the database programming or global Data Management to ensure successful project delivery* Support business development for Data Management proposals by providing input into Requests for Proposals and Request for Information as appropriate. Prepare for, and present, at Sponsor meetings in support of the database programming capabilities.* Have input into writing and reviewing SOPs.* Assist in the formulation of short-term and long-term strategies to improve Data Management efficiencies, through collaboration with management to include reviewing and inputting into the departmental yearly objectives.* Proactive involvement in process improvements.* Perform other related duties as assigned.* Some travel with overnight stays may be required.About You* BSc in a computing, life science, mathematical, or Statistical subject or equivalent.* Typically 8-10 years related clinical trial experience as well as strong database programming knowledge.* Proficient in one of the current and widely used EDC systems (RAVE or Inform).* Strong people management skills gained from ca 3-5 years line management experience.* Good time management and organization skills, the ability to prioritize own work to meet tight deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of work.* Excellent communication skills and a team orientated approach.
