Description
A Pharmaceutical company, located in Illinois, is in need of a Senior Chemist who has a background in method development and validation. The company specializes in injectable drugs and aims to remain competitive within the market through new innovations. The Chemist will work within a group that is focused on remediating legacy products to expand them into new global markets.The Senior Chemist will have the following responsibilities:
- Perform analytical studies independently using HPLC, GC, LC/MS, GC/MS and NMR with GMP/GLP compliance.
- Construct test methods and specifications
- Controls gap assessments and prepare remediation plans
- Collaborate with other team members (manufacturing plants and contract organizations)
- Contribute to project team meetings and ability to work on multiple projects
- Perform gap assessments and conduct studies to remediate plans
* Please note that this opportunity will not require 100% bench work
The Senior Chemist must meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Life Sciences is required; however Master's degree or Ph.D. is preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of pharmaceutical industry experience (GMP/GLP, FDA regulated environment), preferably in new product development. (Candidates with less than 5 years of pharmaceutical experience will not be considered for this opportunity.)
- Experience working independently and within a team (need to be able to collaborate with others).
- Must understand regulatory guidelines and have experience authoring protocols, reports and analytical test methods.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation, including analyzing data and handling out of specification data.
- Significant experience working in an R&D setting
- Experience in tech transfer
- Excellent communicator
- Team oriented
This is a 12 month contract which is likely to be extended for an additional year. The rate is $55-$60/hour. Candidates located outside of Illinois are encouraged to apply but please note this opportunity does NOT offer relocation assistance.
