Description
Key responsibilities:
- Design, performance and management policy of the global WAN
- Design, monitoring, performance and licensing of the WAN acceleration devices deployed globally
- Ensure global network infrastructure and policies are able to meet agreed SLAs
- Responsibility for all perimeter Firewalls from an architecture perspective; including responsibility for version control, capacity and policy
- Advise and approve all major network topology changes and DC network design changes. Provide leadership in all network related matters to a global audience
- Respond as required to consulting requests on network design
- Provide 3rd level support to Operations networking team and assist global Operations staff in resolution of operational incidents as required
- Ensure delegated responsibility for day to day management of WAN environment, provide guidance and training where required
Key requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or relevant experience
- Advanced Cisco certification or equivalent
- Strong experience in the installation, testing, delivery, and support of Enterprise networking solutions
- Experience with supporting a network environment with aggressive SLAs
- Experience with high availability technology, especially clustering and load balancing
- Extensive experience in enterprise WAN design and management
- Experience with RiverBed acceleration products highly desirable
