Job Title: Senior Project Manager

Type: Contract- 6 months            

Location: Johns Creek, GA  30097

Our client is seeking a SeniorProject Manager for a 6 month contract position in Johns Creek, GA.  Candidates should be a hands-on practitioner of project management disciplines in an Application Software Development environment. The Sr. Project Manager will be the go to person on project-related issues and act as a technical & professional leader, providing guidance, direction & training to project team members as necessary. May communicate with Sr. Management regarding the status of specific projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Execution: Manages all project related activities & has responsibility for execution, final delivery & release of the product.
  • Manage Project Scope: Oversee process to define scope of the project based on the business need. Develops & manages project schedules status, resources, deliverables, risks & issues throughout the project with input from the application managers, business partners & project team. Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, & project costs using appropriate techniques.
  • Manage Project Work: Ensures deadlines are met by facilitating resource planning, organizing & prioritizing. Keeps management & key stakeholders informed. Make sure regular project status/quality meetings are conducted & development of project metrics & project scorecard is accomplished.
  • Define Requirements: Collaborate with Product Manager(s) to define & manage business partner requirements.
  • Communication Facilitation: Facilitates communication & negotiation within & across the project team(s).
  • Mitigate Risks: Ensure risk & issue process is executed to achieve project success. Reviews project risks & action plans, & escalates to appropriate level of management.
  • Project Leadership: Provides leadership to the project team for the Quality for client's framework (Q4M) standards & processes throughout the life cycle of the project. Conducts Q4M toll gates & provides input into project performance reviews for each team member. Provide vision & strategic leadership, governance & support to the PM processes & Q4M methodology.
  • Project Closeout/Final Acceptance: Ensure final acceptance for the project from the sponsor/customer
  • Create & manage Resource Plan

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 5-7 plus years of experience in successful project management
  • Project Management hands-on, practitioner in a software development environment.
  • Extensive experience managing multiple, complex simultaneous projects involving cross-functional project teams within budgetary & schedule constraints.
  • Extensive understanding of PM principles, methods, & techniques.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, & Lotus Notes.
  • Intermediate/Advanced in Microsoft Project.
  • Outstanding documentation, organization, time management, & problem solving skills.
  • Flexibility in response to change.
  • Retail background a plus.
  • PMP certification preferred.
