6 months contract position of Illustrator in Huntsville, AL
Local candidates are preferred!

Candidate must have five (5) or more years of experience in aerospace, military, defense and space programs.
The selected applicant will provide technical illustration development requirements, processes, and solutions across various defense programs.
The Illustrator will produce basic illustrations, diagrams, graphics, and schematics for technical publications.
Uses established artwork systems to store and retrieve illustrations. Applies basic knowledge of product compliance with commercial, government and organizational standards to produce graphics.
Performs simple text and graphic integration tasks (in an XML environment).
Additionally, this position will utilize Solid Edge, Creative Suites, Microsoft Office and ACAD software.
Assists in the review of end products.
Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
Candidate will create two dimensional equipment drawings and ISO views.
Creates Schematics, Integration Drawings, and Equipment Breakdowns.
Perform redline changes and revisions.
Work with Engineers and Logisticians throughout the manufacturing process.
Develop alternative solutions as required.
Participate in the review of product during the quality review cycle. Scan, copy, print, and transmit documents and other project correspondence.
Organize and maintain project files.
Communicate and coordinate with the Logistics Manager and other team members.

Experience Required:
Documentation development experience for the following Technical manual specifications; MIL-PRF-40051, MIL-STD 38784, MIL-DTL 24784 and MIL-PRF-32216 standards. Works under consultative direction. Resolves technical drawing problems that would critically affect performance, cost, or schedule. Familiarity with Illustrated Parts Breakdowns a must (eg, MIL-DTL-81929C Manuals, Technical: IPB Figures; Technical Content Requirements or MIL-DTL-15014 Manuals, Technical: Separate IPB Figures; Technical Content Requirements, or equivalent). Must be able to read engineering diagrams and reproduce the functional nature of an integrated system (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, etc.) in an isometric format. Will establish and maintain a directory environment on their PC that can support multiple applications (ie, drawing, viewing, publishing, etc.). Who can navigate an XML product and edit graphic tags.
Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree and 5 years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Position requires that candidate meet requirements to obtain a security clearance in order to access classified information. Inability to obtain a security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.
