MiO O&M Engineer - SMSC, MMSC, VMSC, MSP, SS7 - Djibouti - 3 months +

My client a leading telecommunication company is urgently seeking an experienced MiO O&M Engineerto compliment their existing project.

To be considered for this position you must have the following skills & experience:

Responsibilities:

  • Preventive maintenance activities (health checks, perform/verify backups)
  • Fault handling and corrective actions
  • Investigate and troubleshoot the problems
  • Follow up with support for CSRs
  • Participate in project activities, implementing/adapting (new) E2E service functionalities.
  • Verify and implement operation configuration changes
  • Transfer knowledge to NOC colleagues
  • To be responsible of the KPI
  • To be first responsible of escalation of network critical alarms and problems;
  • Following VAS protocols including as SMPP, SS7, Sigtran, IP knowledge
  • Data base monitoring and check
  • Working for continuous improvement to achieve customer satisfaction
  • Technical and leadership skills
  • Help customers identify their issues, needs and requirements.
  • Traffic monitoring
  • Traffic management/analysis

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of SS7 protocols
  • Knowledge of SMSC/MMSC/VMSC/MSP
  • Good knowledge in operating systems like Windows, Linux/Sun Solaris and etc.
  • Good knowledge in database like MySQL, SQL, Oracle and etc.
  • Good knowledge of Shell Scripting.
  • Good knowledge in Network, Switch, Router, Firewall, TCP/IP protocol and etc.
  • Good Troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication/presentation skills
