Systems Integration Engineer required to provide Integration and Test expertise as part of the Electronic Architecture System Integration and Test team.

The candidate will work within a team of engineers and will be given responsibility for specific elements of the overall integration and test plan. They will plan and perform all aspects of integration uniting the Software and Hardware components of the EA, testing the progressive integration and providing system level verification evidence and onward integration into the vehicular environment. Defect sentencing and driving to satisfactory conclusion a closed loop defect tracking system to enable low-risk robust delivery of the EA system.

The role requires strong system integration skills combined with good people skills and a 'can do' attitude to contribute to the planning and execution of the test strategy and plan to deliver on time, on cost to support a demanding programme schedule.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the below tasks:
Identify, write and execute high quality Integration-checks, Test methods and scripts. Publish SI document as required by the programme schedule.
Execute integration-checks and test scripts, using the tools used within the department Manage SI&T data within HP Quality Centre and DOORS.
Analyse test results and raise high quality, detailed observation-reports as necessary (following BPL guideline) in a timely manner.
Ensure change control techniques are followed for tests, EUT and the SUT.
Manage configuration and change of products and systems under test.
Support continuous improvement to improve the efficiency of working, whilst maintaining a high level of quality (eg Automating repetitive steps).
Adapt plans flexibly as necessary (Priorities may change. Occasional peaks of work may be necessary).
Provide information and metrics to the EA SI Team Lead to enable management reporting.
Become an expert within the SI team on some items of equipment and provide support across the wider SI team in that role.
Participate in engineering meetings as required.

The successful candidate will have the below skills:
Significant, proven engineering experience (IT/Consumer Electronics/Communication/Military/Defence Industry) - preferably with a good level of experience in systems integration and test of software, hardware and requirements verification. Defence experience will be advantageous.
Ability to produce clear & concise technical reports.
Ability to present findings and be able to summarise detailed technical issues to stakeholder community with differing abilities from subject matter expert to end user.
Ability to engage in meetings/workshops directly with the team and as necessary, with the customer.
Good Analytical skills - Ability to work in a logical, structured manner.

Experience of the following tools:
MS Office and Outlook mandatory.
Advantage to have basic skills in the following (in decreasing order of priority):
Quality Centre - (Tests and defects).
Test Automation experience - writing and executing.
IBM Rational DOORS - requirements management tool.
Rhapsody.
Demonstrable technical understanding of MilCAN, Ethernet, Data Switches (Cisco training would be useful) DDS and Power technologies.

Candidates must be willing to undergo a security vetting procedure.
