Due to an internal promotion Chase Resourcing has been asked by our Client – a NASDAQ credited multinational, to source an Experienced Deskside Support Engineer on a permanent basis for their operations based Dublin City Centre. A vital part of your role will be to work closely with IT’s regional customers to better understand their needs and to propose technical solutions to day-to-day business problems.

Main responsibilities

  • Support current corporate IT infrastructure – desktop and laptop systems with MS Windows operating systems (particularly Windows 7), Active Directory and MS Office (including MS Outlook)
  • Research and development in corporate IT infrastructure and integration of new applications.
  • Support of new projects related to corporate IT infrastructure.
  • Troubleshooting and fault rectification related to corporate IT infrastructure – desktop and laptop systems, operating systems and applications.
  • Produce documents related to corporate IT infrastructure and its projects.
  • Software and hardware upgrade of corporate IT infrastructure desktop and laptop systems and applications.
  • Ongoing configuration and maintenance of IT supported hardware and software standards
  • Software and hardware installation and troubleshooting
  • Occasionally conducting training programs such as brown-bag sessions designed to educate the clients internal users about getting the most from their tools

Required Experience

  • ITIL Foundation certification
  • Linux and/or Apple Mac Experience
  • Familiarity with phone systems such as Cisco VoIP
  • Experience of installing and configuring VMWare
  • Experience working on projects and large software deployments
  • Experience in a Customer Support call centre environment
  • Experience using a helpdesk or IT issue and problems tracking system such as Remedy
  • Experience setting up and configuring Lenovo laptops and HP desktops
  • Experience setting up new offices from the ground up (including cabling and other IT services)
  • Has worked in a large multi-national environments that span the globe
  • A good understanding of “Quality” as it relates to Customer satisfaction
