Key Skills for the Senior Application Technician:
- 5 years' minimum in experience in administrating Linux systems
- Proven Scripting ability in at least one Scripting language like Bash, Python, SH, groovy, ruby
- General Java Application Server knowledge
- Support deployment automation tools like Hudson and Go Server
- Great Interest in new technologies and solutions
- Passionate about security and providing service
About the role of Senior Application Technician:
We are looking for an Application Technician with about 5 years' experience of automation, Linux and Java. You will be part of a team that will be building and maintaining a high availability infrastructure in an agile environment. In this role you will work within a dynamic team consisting of network, infrastructure, application and database support technicians.
Responsibilities of the Senior Application Technician:
- Provide architectural Application Server advice to architecture teams
- Support Application Server eg: Glassfish, Apache, Tomcat, ActiveMQ, LDAP and JBoss
- Scripting automation, monitoring and administration tasks
- Assist engineering by providing tools for self-service Application Server provisioning and configuration
- Actively participate in performance tuning application Servers
- Assist in capacity and availability planning
