Description
The Equity Derivatives Business is driving an aggressive innovation agenda. This requires funneling the large number of ideas generated at all levels (primarily by FO) into a structured framework. The right amount of rigour in documenting/governing initiatives is important to enable targeted decision making.
These initiatives cover:
* Strategic system implementation/re-engineering
* New Products and markets (including NBIA
Implementation of regulatory requirements
* Client offerings & strategies
* Business Processes improvements across FO, Tech and Ops
The candidate would be responsible for:
- Work closely with the Business (Desk Heads, Global and Regional Business Managers) to understand their needs/priorities/issues
- Initiate projects by defining scope, objectives and timeframes
- Build and own project deliverables: business case, plans, issues & risks
- Build and run governance around the different initiatives: communication, escalation, resolution
- Face-off to partners on behalf of the business - technology, operations, legal, compliance, treasury and other support groups
- Be the voice of the business: make priorities transparent, influence to minimise lead-time
- Perform cost benefit analysis to propose optimum future process to the business
- Ultimately, successfully deliver own portfolio of initiatives
We are looking for candidates with the following characteristics:
- Excellent project management skills & a track record in delivering complex projects on behalf of Front Office/Operations
- Previous experience in the Financial Services industry, ideally with understanding of Equity Derivative products
- Strong understanding of the transaction life cycle
- Excellent problem solving skills in order to identify, understand and address operational and technical issues
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to develop relationships across the various stakeholders including Senior Business executives
