Our client is currently looking for a MEMS Engineer to join their existing team, located at their site in the South West of England. They are a prestigious company and are part of a larger group which speacialises in Aerospace systems. They design and manufacture products for control, navigation and guidance for surface and air applications in the global aerospace and defence markets. One of their world leading products includes the innovative MEMS IMUs based on unique in-house technology and processes. They have a dedicated team who are continually developing the MEMS inertial product which is a key part of their strategy and fundamental to the growth of the overall business.

To support this growth we are looking for the following experience:

" Modelling of complex MEMS Systems
" Design of MEMS components
" Liaison with Manufacturing
" Integration, test and evaluation

Person specification:

" Qualified to PhD or good degree level.
" Understanding of Finite Element Modelling
" MEMS experience an advantage.
" Technical report writing
" Team player and effective Communicator.

Our client would also consider a recently qualified PhD Student or Physics Graduate with a first class or upper second class degree. It would also suit someone with similar academic qualifications and a minimum of 2 years' experience in design, development and manufacture of MEMS components. Some experience of modelling and/or experimental research would be an advantage.

Candidates should have competent communication skills including the writing and delivery of technical reports / presentations and, if there's work experience then evidence of writing technical papers and management reports.
