A leading Financial Services company is seeking a Cognos/DataStage developer for 6 months initially with prospects of extension. The position is responsible for analysing and developing reports/Dashboard for the business; to ensure the successful delivery of reporting requirements; and supporting user acceptance testing and end user training (if required).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cognos Report development
  • Identify opportunities to optimize the ETL environment, implement monitoring, quality and validation processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Work closely with the Data Modeler and Business Analysts to understand requirements and provide expert knowledge to ensure successful delivery of Data Warehousing solutions
  • Assist in documenting detailed user requirements and maintain reporting catalogue
  • Document test plans and scripts
  • Analyse and address production defects and issues
  • Provide end user support as required
  • Provide estimates and assist in the preparation of project plans
Key Skills:
  • 3 years development experience using Cognos 10 BI (Framework Manager, Report Studio, Transformer, Analysis Studio, Active reports)
  • 3 years development experience using IBM Information Server Suite 8.0/8.7 ( Datastage, Quality Stage is advantageous)
  • Advanced level of development experience using SQL (DB2, SQL Server and Oracle)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
