DESCRIPTION:
Role Description:
Responsible for developing and executing QA and Testing process, deliverables and activities for the Market/Credit/Liquidity Risk Project across the enterprise comprising of both business and technical stakeholders The incumbent will manage and co-ordinate the test environment requirements, develop testing artifacts, development of test cases and execute the releases to the QA and Testing environments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop Project Quality Goals
- Assists in the development of project quality goals with project stakeholders
- Participates in requirements reviews
- Produces test reports and other management related test artifacts for assigned projects
2. Participate in Core Testing Activities
- Analyzes the requirements for testability
- Designs and develops test cases and suites based on project requirements and testing standards
- Creates and maintains test data
- Executes manual and automated test cases and scripts
- Identifies, analyzes, and documents all the system errors and operational characteristics that are inconsistent with stated (and implied) requirements and design specifications
- Record and track defects throughout the defect life cycle
- Collects, analyzes, and communicates test results
3. Test Environment Coordination
- Maintains the artifacts and the environment images for projects in collaboration with other IT departments
- Executes release installation and database/data updates for the Certification Environment during testing phase
4. User assistance
- Assists developers with test data and unit test case development
- Assists in the planning and execution of UAT and quality assessments
5. Process improvements
- Initiates, develops and implements industry best practices designed to increase product quality and team effectiveness
- Collaborates with project stakeholders and IT groups to seek continuous improvements
- Conducts research on tools/ideas for adoption
6. Other
- Participates in other Investments QA & Testing activities, as assigned
- Maintains excellent attention to detail while managing work which may become repetitive over time
- Mentors/coaches Associate Investment Technical QA Analysts and Co-op Students
- Escalates quality concerns to management

Skills:
- A university/college degree
- A minimum of 5 years working experience in Investment Business area preferably Market and Credit Risk
- Knowledge in Risk Management (Market Risk, Credit Risk, Liquidity Risk) an asset
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge/experience in MS Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication/negotiation skills
- Good logical, analytical and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of industry standard SDLC, Agile and Testing Methodologies
- Ability to review requirements for testability and clarity without ambiguity
- Ability to design and develop test cases base on business and functional requirement documents ensuring sufficient test coverage
- Ability to create clear and concise testing artifacts including test execution and defect status reports
- Ability to work independently in a fast changing environment. Details and results oriented, team player
- Experience in investment related business system testing (eg Trading Order Management System, Pricing System, Performance Management, Risk Management, Cash Management, etc.)
Skills (Nice to have):
- Strong interests and background in quantitative areas an asset
- Demonstrated experience and passion in applying current testing methodologies
- Knowledge/experience in working with and building applications in MS Excel (VBA, Excel functions, Using add-in)
- Knowledge/experience in developing/executing scripts for test automation (VBScript, JavaScript) using industry leading testing tools and suites
- Knowledge of Capital Markets products Instruments and process
- Knowledge of Financial Modeling
