Prime SI Vendor Manager
Role Description:
Accountable for a portfolio of assigned vendors with a primary expectation to: facilitate vendor negotiations; contract negotiation, drafting and administration; and perform ongoing vendor performance monitoring and evaluation against defined contracts, as part of a large delivery program that includes a large number of vendors with different interaction models.
Activities:
- Define contractual requirements (including SLAs) for all program deliverables of contracted 3rd party vendors
- Review and assess suitability to prime SI engagement of the existing master services contracts already in place for 3rd party vendors already under customer’s management
- Review and edit statement of work for contracted third-party vendors
- Work with purchasing and legal entities to receive consulting advice on how to manage specific situations and to ensure compliance to policies
- Engage with both customer’s and vendor’s counterparts into regular, formal sessions to document progress and issues
- Raise contractual issues through PMO
Profile requirements:
- Experience in working with SI and software vendors in terms of deliverables management, from a contractual perspective
- Solid understanding of negotiation theory, strategies and practices
- Knowledge and experience relating to IT Software and hardware
- Ability prioritize time and activities on most problematic 3rd party vendors
- Strong project management skills to ensure proper planning, execution and reporting of contract management activities
- Experience in setting and monitoring 3rd party performance SLAs
- Ability to engage with the domain delivery leads managing the technical delivery of the contracted 3rd party to understand both technical and delivery issues and to assess the relevance/timing of invoking contractual terms
- Very strong formal communication skills
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Strong business and financial acumen - including proven experience in structuring deals, drafting legal agreements, risk mitigation and skilled negotiations
- Ability to maintain perspective and confidence in face of difficult contract negotiations, tight deadlines and client expectations
- Ability to engage effectively with different levels of management
- Excellent problem solving and planning skills
- Spirited team player with the ability to work as a positive role model and catalyst for change
- Ability to foster and motivate cross functional team engagement when leading and negotiating transactions
