Our client is a Global Technology Company with Manufacturing operations in Kildare, Ireland. They presently seek an Image Processing/Machine Vision Specialist to join their team.
This position requires a basic understanding of applying machine vision technology in a manufacturing environment for: on-line and off-line inspection, vision controlled positioning, defect analysis, and character recognition.
Responsibilities:
*Development, deployment and support of Test Systems for the manufacturing environment.
*Working with our partners to analyze requirements and the provision of solutions to address those needs.
*Development of machine vision (automated inspection) units. Encompasses optics, mechanical engineering, lighting, sensors/cameras and image processing analysis to perform inspections
*Support all aspects of Machine Vision Systems (ie Matrox, Cognex)
oResponsibilities include support, debug and development of machine vision/automated inspection systems in a manufacturing environment which measure critical product/process parameters and meet or exceed specified gauge health metrics.
*Support the integration of machine vision systems on automated assembly lines with machine control systems.
Skills and Aptitudes:
*Strong technical project management/organizational skills
*Strong communication skills
*Strong proven knowledge of machine vision trends
*Strong expertise with OO programming (C#, C++)
Experience and knowledge:
*Strong programming skills (in some of C/C++, VB, .NET, Java)
*Experience of working with software development methodologies/tools
*Experience of developing systems in an object-oriented environment
*HW/SW debugging skills
Desired:
*Experience in applications of computer vision
*Experience/knowledge of requirements of high volume hi-tech manufacturing
environment
*Demonstrated knowledge of PC Operating Systems
*Strong C++ and C# skills
*Familiar with selection of optics and lighting techniques.
