Role: Customs and Trade analysts
Location: Krakow, Poland
Duration: 6 months+
No. of Position: 6+

Skills Required:

  • Ability to work, write, read and speak in English
  • Experience in international customs regulations
  • Knowledge of free trade agreement principles (NAFTA as an eg)
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS suite to produce quality written communications such as memos, spreadsheets, slides, standard work documents.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a productive and committed work effort, meeting deadlines and managing workload.
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a cooperative, enthusiastic and friendly manner to accomplish position functions and participate in team efforts.
  • Ability to work on ERP platforms [Oracle] and other designed tools to support customs compliance subjects and [classification, origin, valuation, operational transactions and risk assessment tools]

Activities include:
Be part of the center of expertise team at Poland to do the following activities:

Operational support and Escalation management

  • Support clearing shipments held at customs and escalation requests [US, EMEA and Russia], support brokers in getting missing information for clearance purposes. [eg product data requests, manufacturing information requests]
  • Support internal employees on local to local office international shipments.
  • Support research on technical customs matters

Centralized Customs Processes

  • Support standardization of the customs process, providing support on the guidelines to the different theatres across the globe
  • Support Import/Export/Duty Management projects as well as other trade-compliance global work.
  • Work with global customs team to ensure all projects and daily workload are being completed and escalated to the supervisor as needed.

Origin

  • Issuance of preferential certificates of origin, support to businesses and customers to communicate information around origin

Compliance Reporting and Audits

  • Support data mining, trend analysis activities related to the compliance risk and establishment of dashboard to control brokers, support to manual auditing
  • Collect, enter and present data using spreadsheets, statistical packages and presentation software
  • Assist in preparation, coordination, filing and tracking of external customs requests for information.

Training

  • We will expect over time the team to provide training on global processes both internally and externally.
