A Global Medical Device organisation currently requires an experienced Materials Consultant to work alongside their cross functional Material team, based at their facility in Norway.

Responsible for the following:

-Plastic / polymer material proposal and selection and necessary controls to ensure that materials fulfil requirements during development projects and improvements.
-Issuing material specifications and be a technical contact to clarify material requirements
-Support and contribute in problem solving activities in Non-Conformance /complaints investigation
-Establish guidelines for mixing processes, and establish tests after mixing
-Improvement of compounding process

All activities that can support material choice, for example:
-Pretesting
-Giving input for verification activities
-Perform material compatibility testing or other verification tests if necessary,
-Contribute in risk evaluation.

Supporting manufacturing for:
-Process improvements,
-Optimization of in house mixing and handling of materials primarily, moulding if needed
Generation of run sheets that include:
-Material description,
-Equipment configuration,
-Run parameters,
-Test plan and all other information needed for the run.
-Evaluation of results of the run and recommendations for future steps.

Requirements:

-Plastic Material / Polymer background
-Master within plastic/polymer engineering, chemical engineering
-Minimum 3 years` experience of product development and/or manufacturing process with plastics products
-Familiarity with the standards used for plastics production and testing.
-An in-depth understanding of polymer behaviour, and how polymer parts perform in service,
-Plastics processing knowledge (injection, rotation moulding).
