Position: Javascript UI DeveloperReporting to: Development Manager
Overview
A leading time-to-value provider of process management software are looking for Javascript UI Developer to help transition away from existing LAMP (Perl) architecture to one based on JAVA.
Job Role
Looking for a JavaScript expert who can blend technical know-how with creative flair and a keen eye for design and usability to help develop next generation of rich internet browser, tablet and mobile application interfaces. You will be working closely with our back end java and database team who will provide the JAVA web services that your front end will interact with.
- Special Components: This is project-based work to develop new RIA components for innovative visualization and user interaction for industry specific challenges our clients face.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with Development Manager to determine the design and technologies for web UI that will meet business requirements
- Develop new features and functions to high quality and agreed specification
- Provide 3rd level support to the professional services team and support desk.
- Provide proof of concept development to support business initiatives
- Investigation and evaluation of technology to support roadmap and business
Essential Skills and Experience
- Must have worked on a Rich Internet Application
- HTML5, CSS3, AJAX, JSON etc.
- Experience of various JavaScript frameworks (JQuery, Prototype, EXT-JS)
- Developing web UI for service oriented architecture.
- Understanding of MVC architecture
- Previous experience of working with Web Services/WSDL and SOAP/XML
- Selecting and Integrating 3rd party JavaScript widgets (e.g. for mapping, charting, drawing)
- Cross-browser compatibility and experience of access requirements
- Flair for UI look and feel
