Oracle Apps Performance Analyst
Pittsburgh, PA
2 years+ contract
This position is more specific to database performance and tuning for Oracle E-business Suite. Must have at least 2-3 years of hard-core experience in tuning Oracle databases (preferably Oracle Apps databases) via Oracle Database techniques and features (not simply by tuning PL/SQL). Must have experience managing/tuning Concurrent Manager and Workflow processes.
Required Skills:
10 years work experience with a minimum of 4 years in Oracle E-business application support and administration
Oracle applications R12 and Oracle database 11g experience
Oracle application and DBMS installation
Monitoring and tuning of concurrent managers, forms and report Servers, web Servers
Database monitoring and tuning with ability to implement database strategies to correct resource contention and reduce computing requirements
SQL performance and tuning with multiple corrective strategies
GRID experience including custom metric defining key indicators of a less than optimal performing application or database
Automation of performance monitoring
Development and maintenance of monthly and weekly performance reports highlighting performance improvements and areas for improvement
Application and database cloning
Problem identification and resolution
Partitioning and compression experience
Production support of the eBusiness application, third party software and database
Familiarity with database architecture, both logical and physical design
UNIX knowledge
Strong application and traditional DBA experience/skills are plus
Other:
Must be local to the Pittsburgh area or be willing to move to Pittsburgh for the duration of the project. Extensions are likely.
