Google Apps administrator

As Google Apps administrator you are, together with the Google Apps team, responsible for continuity and the evolution of the Google Apps platform. You report to the Google owner.

Searching for continuous improvement initiatives, you have a critical look on existing systems, tools and procedures. You follow closely the evolution of Google Apps and make proposals to roll out interesting new features; you prepare the communication to the employees.

With the Google Support team, you work close together on finding solutions to problems; you prepare procedures for the Google Support team to solve known incidents.

You have a degree in an IT related direction with about 5 years relevant experience. Knowledge of the Stainless industry is an asset but not a must. As a person you are communicative, entrepreneurial and you have the necessary problem solving skills. You are innovative and you keep yourself informed on the latest trends in the IT landscape. You have some knowledge of Google Apps Scripting.

English is a must; French, Dutch and Portuguese are optional. Working environment (Genk, Belgium) in an innovative organization. Periodically travelling (Luxembourg/Paris/...) is required.

Some recurring tasks of a Google administrator

Follow up of the Google Apps Backup failures: Weekly, you check the Google Apps Backup failures and act accordingly to solve them (contacting support/end user/...)

Follow up of the Google Apps Statistics website: As Google administrator, every month, you prepare and publish statistical reports on number of accounts, documents, sites. The Google administrator interprets these numbers and makes proposals according to the evolution. Follow up of the suspended accounts: Every month accounts that have been suspended for some time are deleted. Doing that, the Google administrator is aware of the numbers and can interpret the Google Apps statistics in the right way.

Security audit: Together with the Google owner and the IT security officer, the Google administrator goes over the logged administrative actions of the last month. They can decide to take according measurements including security or communication. Follow up Google Level 1 Support: Every month the Google administrator meets the Google Level 1 support team in order to discuss open tickets, problems and other issues within Google support.

Follow up Google Level 2 Support: Every month the Google administrator meets the Google Level 2 support team in order to discuss open tickets, problems and other issues within Google support. Together they decide on upcoming actions and deadlines. Also a review of the surveys is included.

Check Google Chrome Version: Every month, the Google administrator checks the latest stable version of Google Chrome on Windows. distributes 4 Google Chrome versions per year. The installation of such a new version is prepared by the Google administrator. Organisations within Google Apps: Every 2 months the different organisations in Google are described in a document. In case of required actions to correct a given situation, they are prepared and taken on short notice.

Follow up of the unused Google accounts: Every 3 months, The Google administrator prepares an overview of Google accounts, that haven't logged in in the last three months. This overview is distributed within the Google Pioneers so they can ask for the suspension of some Google accounts.

Follow up of the unused Blackberry's: Every 3 months, The Google administrator checks with the Blackberry users whether or not they use their Blackberry and require a license for a BESaccount.
