Information Security Engineer: VBlock, Server OS, or Network

Essential Experience

Strong experience of one or more of the following:

Secure administration of critical infrastructure (VMWare, Red Hat Linux, MS Server, Cisco network)

Virtual network security and zoning

Prepare processes for handling generation of output for a SIEM tool and the responses from the SOC for the security incidents.

Experience of the security implications of virtualised technologies.

Ability to combine industry and vendor security best practices into practical operational solutions

Experience and understanding of the common security infrastructure challenges in large and complex business and technical environments.

A good understanding of the regulations (eg SOX, PCI, COBIT, GxP Data Privacy & Protection, etc.)

Knowledge and experience in more than one technology discipline is advantageous.

>6 years of professional IT experience in an infrastructure domain.   

Desirable Experience:

Certification as engineer or expert in technical domain.

Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is considered advantageous.  

Primary Responsibilities

Engineer and design the solutions for the ISEC Foundation remediation program.

Secure administration of critical infrastructure

Virtual network security and zoning

Prepare processes for handling generation of output for a SIEM tool and the responses from the SOC for the security incidents.

Prepare groundwork for security training for administrators

Propose security solutions that are good industry practice.

Deliver solutions for security solutions and processes and hand over to technical writers for operational support.

Results to be achieved

Implement solutions which satisfy existing security requirements that are acceptable as complete to Information Governance group and that pass a security audit and penetration tests.

Mandate

Report to the architect and offer expert advice.

Defend solutions proposed to Information Governance Group or Internal Quality department.

Design and engineer solution and guide technical writers in proper documentation of systems and processes.

Project Management Teams

Ensure delivery of commitments on the participated projects on time and within budget. Provide updates.

Provide assistance with business requirements and status/progress on solutions

Education

Minimum Requirement: BS in Computer Science, engineering or equivalent degree, with technical training equivalent and hands-on experience. MSc degree advantageous plus.

Expert knowledge in a specific technology and associated subsystems.

ITSM foundation preferred. ITSM certification in Incident or Problem Management a plus

Industry recognized certifications in the relevant area are desired

ITIL knowledge, ITIL Foundation certification preferred.

Advanced English language skills a must

Mobility: No.

Travel: zero

Flexibility re working on global projects, eg accommodating other time zones
