The Company
A new opportunity exists for a Senior Project Director of Infrastructure Projects in a NSW Government agency. This is a 12 month contract located in Western Sydney working on the delivery of a infrastructure refresh, migration and transformation project.
The Role
- Management of the establishment of a private cloud based solution and associated services
- Manage database consolidation and associated refresh initiatives
- Successfully engage and manage vendors and internal staff in a Government setting
- Plan, monitor and report financial, schedule, resource, benefit and quality aspects of the project
- Drive the design, documentation and development of business and technical requirements.
- Ensure that client needs, expectations and satisfaction are proactively managed and delivered.
- Lead, motivate and develop the project delivery team.
- Report to and manage meetings and communications for project boards, user reference groups, and technical reference groups as required by the project.
Key Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience as the project director in the delivery of private cloud based infrastructure solutions, preferably to large (10,000+ user) organizations.
- Demonstrated experience as the project director in a number of major data centre upgrades or migrations.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge in relation to cloud based solutions preferably utilising a variety of technology platforms
- Demonstrated ability and resilience in overcoming project obstacles to meet schedule and financial targets
- Demonstrated experience to lead a diverse team of technical specialists, vendors and end user stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in the application of Prince 2 to previous projects as well as recognized certification in Prince 2 project management.
- Demonstrated experience in the selection and engagement of vendors in Government (Desirable)
- Knowledge of and experience in Organizational Change Management within a project (Desirable)
