Description
Manage the ICT network infrastructure and provide technical support to the network team. This role includes the operation, maintenance, design, upgrade, planning, evaluation, installation and implementation of the network solutions.
Relevant tertiary or industry qualifications or industry experience will be highly regarded.
DUTIES
Oversee the technical aspects of the network infrastructure team and provide technical support and leadership to staff across the following technical streams:
- High Grade Cryptographic solutions
- LAN, WAN and Gateway infrastructure and related services including monitoring, fault management, change management and documentation.
- Provision of network and related facilities and associated infrastructure to support the Department's information services and applications; and
- Provision of IT Infrastructure.
Undertake other duties, including:
- Design, produce and review documentation;
- Build good working relationships with internal/external clients and stakeholders;
- Assist with technology procurement; and
- Provide training of support staff in new developments.
- Project activities as required.
SKILLS
- Demonstrated experience in managing and maintaining High Grade Cryptography solutions is essential (minimum 5 years' experience).
- Relevant tertiary/industry qualifications and/or experience in managing and maintaining network infrastructure. Must have ability to demonstrate proficiency in maintaining Switches, Routers and Firewalls. Knowledge of routing protocols, VPNs, VRF/MPLs and telecommunications services is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in fault management and resolving network/application performance issues. Knowledge of network/application products and solutions is highly advantageous.
- Proven ability to manage high availability of a wide range of ICT infrastructure technology to deliver reliable, robust and secure ICT services. Knowledge of the ISM, PSPF, ACS or application load balancing is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience and a record of achievement in a senior ICT role related to the provision of network infrastructure services preferably in an enterprise. Knowledge of solution design, IDS/IPS, Proxy services (including antivirus and certificates), VOIP and video conferencing solutions is highly advantageous.
