Sr. BA/Data Modeler 3-6 month contract position of seniorBusiness Analyst in Cincinnati, OHResponsibilities:
Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business solutions and business requirements:
o Analyzes, identifies and writes detailed description of user requirements, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs
o Makes recommendations for business process improvements with a thorough understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the technology needs.
o Prepares analysis for production support of systems and applications and associated documentation
o Acts as a liaison between business and IT. Develops and maintains knowledge of customer's business
o Creates and tests ad hoc reports.
o Leads small to moderately complex projects.
Formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies
Assists with the design and implementation of operational and system enhancements to ensure production capabilities are both effective and efficient.
Exhibits strong business knowledge and builds strong customer relationships
Documents end user requirements for data, reports and analyses, training, data quality and performance. Experienced knowledge of reporting tools and databases:
o Strong knowledge of business information data sources and business data rules.
Performs other duties as assignedQualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Mathematics or Quantitative Analysis. A minimum cumulative GPA has to be at or above 3.5.
Three to five years of insurance or financial data modelling or analysis that includes some experience in designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and/or maintaining data/statistical models required.
Performs complex requirements development, coverage analysis, impact analysis and modification. Leads requirements effort on projects using moderately complex technical skills. Performs work with moderate technical skills and under general supervision. Defines complex business information requirements.
Designations in CAS, CPCU, AIC, or IIA preferred
Experience with data modelling tools (SPSS, SAS, or R) and reporting tools (Cognos, SSRS, Excel, or Business Objects), a plus
Specialty and Commercial Insurance experience a plus
