Description
Front / Back End Developer wanted for 3 week contract to build Mini SiteHi,
I’m looking for a web developer to make a website that’s mobile friendly based off of finished mock-ups created in Illustrator. This is purely for a developer as the designs will already be completed.
The website consists of 6 screens, a small backend database, and needs to hook into the twitter and facebook API’s to allow the user to share content with their followers/friends.
Some of the screens will have slight character animation done in HTML5. The animation will be handed to you, but needs to be incorporated into the site.
Here’s the full site rundown:
On the 4th screen, the user enters a quote (or multiple quotes, each less than 120 characters).
On the 6th screen, the user forwards this site to a friend(s) through email, twitter, or facebook. This will generate a unique URL so when the friend opens the site, the first screen includes one of the quotes their friend entered on the 4th screen.
The tricky part of the backend will be keeping track of these quotes, giving the user the option to submit them anonymously or publically, and then figuring out how to incorporate that when the next person receives this site.
The less tricky part will be getting the graphics to work in a way that’s both mobile and desktop happy. While the designer will have sketched out how to make this work, it will still be a challenge that’s incredibly important to get right here.

I’m less concerned about which language you write in and how the database is set up as long as it’s something that I can adjust and look at as needed. For instance, if I want to tweak the wording, and also access database items, I’d like to have a way to do that. Doesn’t need to be a fancy editor or back end by any means, just something that’s adjustable. I can dance and sing with HTML and CSS but don’t have a clue when it comes to querying MySQL databases, so there will need to be some fairly ugly backend that’s simpler than querying the database myself. While I’m more familiar with PHP, I’m open to you using Ruby or jerry-rigging something else.
The project would start Monday June 24th, and need to be finished in 3 weeks by July 15th.
Please email me an estimate of how much this would cost, and at least two examples of previous websites that showcase your abilities. Ideally, I’d like to see a previous back end that you’ve created. Case studies to show what your role was are always nice, but not explicitly necessary. Also, please write out your process for project updates and how you plan to execute it in terms of the backend.
Thank you,
Jeremy
