My client, a top operator here in Houston is currently looking for a Senior Subsea Control Systems Engineer. Please see the description below, if this interest you apply with an attached CV.

B.S. or M.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering. Significant oil and gas industry experience, with several years of experience in subsea engineering.

Skills and Knowledge:
* Good leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as a team member under project schedule pressures.
* Strong communication, creativity, problem solving, and coordination capabilities.
* Overall knowledge of subsea production systems and their installation methods is required including trees, connector systems, control systems, umbilicals, jumpers, and flying leads.
* Familiarity with relevant ISO / API 17 series documents and supporting practices.
* Foundational working knowledge of mechanical design, hydraulics, controls, instrumentation, qualification, and testing.
* Interface management capability and the ability to provide leadership to small teams and suppliers is also expected.
* Adaptability to multinational environment, with wide exposure to various cultures and customs.

Job Responsibilities:
* Develop subsea project requirements based upon EMDC Practices and Processes. Work with project team to tender subsea equipment, evaluate design and installation contracts. Provide recommendations for contract award for subsea hardware design, manufacture, and installation.

* Take the lead in vendor interactions to ensure products meet specifications, both component and system functionality, and optimization to ensure project expectations for functionality and operability are met. Oversee construction, pre-commissioning, factory acceptance / system integration testing, installation, and commissioning activities of subsea equipment.

* Verify the design integrity of work carried out by engineering third parties to ensure that the proposed solutions are technically sound. Participate in design and SHE reviews (HAZOPs, HAZIDs, risk assessments) and verify related risk and reliability issues are closed out.

* Interface with EMDC Quality groups to ensure that subsea hardware quality requirements are met.

* Manage the interfaces between system components and the various engineering disciplines and EMDC functional groups.

* Qualify new technologies and subsea hardware for project use. Perform necessary studies to support the development and/or understanding of new subsea technologies.

* Promote safety in all project aspects of vendor manufacturing assembly, testing, installation, and operations.

* Travel, domestic or international, including developing countries.
