I am currently looking for an experienced Front End Developer with strong JavaScript skills to join a leading Communications company based in central London. The company are very well established in the market having been around of decades.
Technical skills
This person will be involved in the development and enhancement of the company's various customer-facing innovative websites geared to deliver information to subscribers. They will need to have the proven ability in software design, development and testing. The ideal candidate will be a graduate in an engineering, maths or science discipline self motivated, and an open source enthusiast
Essential
- Skilled in Javascript programming and related libraries such as jQuery
- Good CSS knowledge of patterns and frameworks (Less, Bootstrap)
- Structured, accessible markup skills in XHTML/HTML (HTML5)
- Experience working with various presentation methods such as JSP, Freemarker, Angular, Backbone
- Experience integrating with server-side code or services to produce engaging pages
- Object oriented and modular techniques for coding
- Linux and Apache experience
- Ability to work with Web Services (SOAP, Rest)
- Agile development process
- Good understanding of Web Accessibility
- Developing cross-browser and cross-platform compatible solutions
Desirable
- Java/J2E software design and development in a SOA environment
- XML technologies including XSLT, XPath, XQuery
- Some experience inAJAXtechniques
- Experience of CI environments, Ant, Maven
- Use of wireframes and mocks to demonstrate solutions
- Image manipulation and tools such as Photoshop
