Description

The candidate should be able to work in a team environment across all levels of management. He/she must be a strong partner in the requirements gathering process and be able to own & lead analysis, design, and development of software in a J2EE and Mobile Web environment, contributing to the overall success of projects as they move through the different phases of the project life cycle.

Responsibilities:
*Provide technical direction in designing and developing complex J2EE & Mobile web applications in a dynamic financial services environment.
*Remain current with mobile trends and be forward thinking in developing mobile solutions that meet business needs
*Promote innovation where possible to increase productivity/enhance application suite
*Possess strong technical aptitude with the ability to lead in-depth technology discussions, articulating the business value of a technology solution
*Define & adhere to development standards & best practices
*Work as part of a project delivery team to resolve issues and proactively suggest improvement areas. Address & resolve technical issues with extra effort/time where required.
*Contribute effectively at many different points in a project life cycle as a motivated, self-starting individual contributor
*Foster teamwork and collaboration among team members both onshore and offshore
*Mentor and provide leadership to team members, providing guidance and resolutions to technical issues
*Flexibility to travel to the US if required

Qualifications

*Minimum 8 years of software development experience
*Minimum 5 years of development experience in a web based environment with emphasis on J2EE.
*Minimum of 2 years in technical lead role in distributed environment
*Demonstrated experience in solution design using design patterns
*Extensive knowledge of following core technologies required: Java/J2EE, Struts, Tomcat, Eclipse, SVN, Javascript, JSP, HTML5, CSS, WebServices
*Experience with Mobile web frameworks required eg JQuery, JQuery Mobile, Sencha Touch, ModoLabs, Kurogo or similar
*Experience with Spring, IBatis, Hibernate
*Experience with reporting tools such as IBI Webfocus, OBI, BRIO
*Sound knowledge of database design and modelling is required. Experience with Oracle is preferred.
*Strong understanding of cloud computing, Data Rights Management trends, and how to implement secure Internet facing applications
*Able to work in a fast paced, highly matrixed environment to achieve group goals, often hand in hand with the business team
*Ability to recommend design changes for complex, interrelated systems design to achieve complicated requirements, improve performance or reduce costs of ownership
*Strong analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills
*Ability to balance priorities on simultaneous projects
*Excellent communication skills and ability to translate functional business and systems requirements to technical staff.
*Must be an organized self-starter with a collaborative work style, customer service focus, and ability to multi-task.
- Familiar with use of Agile software delivery methodology
