 Middle Office Operations Analyst : Maritime Contracts and Accounts : Oil Trading and Shipping

World Leading Global Energy Trading Company has an exciting opportunity for a Middle Office Operations Analyst with strong experience with Accounts and Contracts including Maritime Law to work within the Middle Office team and to join this friendly and lively team.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Allocate recoverable costs agreed under all Freight agreements
  • Prepare post deal expense claims
  • Record claims activity
  • Maximise recoveries to minimise profit leakage from the trading book.
  • Advise trading staff of issues relating to post deal expenses
  • Negotiate final settlement of claims
  • Chase counter-parties in respect of overdue monies

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in Shipping and oil trading operations or administration.
  • Ability to work closely within a team.
  • Knowledge of English Maritime and Commercial Law
  • Good negotiating skills
  • Administration of both charter parties and oil contracts.
  • Good computer literacy, including manipulation of data in MS Excel
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work methodically under pressure with the minimum of supervision

The post deal expense claims department provides professional oil and freight post deal expense service to the various business desks within the organisation : eg. Crude Supply & Trading (Crude and Freight), Products (Middle Distillates, Chem Feed, Africa, Mogas, Fuel Oil, Pacific Island, Freight) and LPG.
