Computer Futures are looking for a Database Administrator for a key client in the Malmesbury / Wiltshire area to be part of their ongoing growth plans and to play a key role their ongoing IT evolution. As a Database Administrator, you won't want to miss out on this fantastic opportunity to progress your career with an established, worldwide organisation and produce innovative, cutting-edge and exciting technologies - all from an unbeatable location.As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for providing technical and business process expertise which will support the Database Administration Team Leader, the DBA Team and the wider Infrastructure Team.
Administering all databases, you will use internally hosted SAP, SharePoint and 3rd party systems to support the Service Delivery and Business Applications Team. You will also assist with the delivery of projects utilizing in-house and 3rd party resources.
Your other responsibilities will include:
- Supporting and administering the SAP infrastructure
- Supporting and administering all other SQL Server based databases globally
- Assisting in the delivery of core database project activities
- Developing, assessing, improving and documenting DBA processes
- Providing full supported documentation of infrastructure improvement projects
Key Skills:
At least one year's database administration experience.
Experience of the setup, management and monitoring of SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008, 2008 R2 or 2012 databases.
A proven track record of capacity planning, optimizing queries and indexes and SQL Server instances to support 3rd party applications.
An understanding of Microsoft Windows NT based server technologies.
The salary is paying up to £35,000 plus 25 Days' Holiday, Option to Sell Holiday, Staff Bonus, Contributory Pension, Life Assurance, Occupational Health, including Eye Tests, Childcare Vouchers.
