Description

EMC Engineer required to be part of a mission team and ensure that EMC mitigations are introduced at the design stage, and that EMC test activities are planned and implemented to demonstrate that the system is compliant with EMC requirements.
The candidate will be required to undertake EMC engineering & analysis tasks at System and subsystem level as part of current projects and longer term proposals.

Specific tasks will include:
EMC requirements analysis.
Analysis of systems and generation of pragmatic, implementable EMC mitigations and risk reduction approach.
Advising on EMC control techniques and best practices.
Making inputs into structure and harnessing design.
Making inputs into subsystem designs.
Planning of cost effective risk reduction activities.
Planning of EMC qualification and acceptance tests within cost and schedule constraints.
Preparation and update of test plans and procedures in line with standards when required.
Ensure compliance to EMC System level performance requirements.
Definition/selection of test equipment and facilities.
Definition of EMC requirements for externally sourced flight equipment.
Assisting test personnel with EMC testing.
Involvement in testing of units & test programme control.
Producing test reports for customer delivery.
Participation & presentation at design, test and project level reviews.
Participation in project meetings.
Liaison with suppliers to achieve compliant EMC designs.

The successful candidate will have the below skills:
EMC design techniques & practices.
Extensive experience of a wide range of test equipment/
Relevant Standards: ECSS standards and/or Mil Std .
EMC for aerospace or defence industries.
Demonstrable competence in EMC systems level test and analysis.
