Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of Network Engineering including all datacentre networking & network security
  • Drive key IT projects to deliver network infrastructure for all fabrics: corp, test, dev, preproduction & prodocution.
  • Provide operational support for network related issues and work with internal support teams to drive resolution
  • Provide guidance to the team for using best practices and enterprise level standards
  • Communicate and document project specifications, procedures, etc.
  • Provide accurate effort-estimates for deliverables
  • Involved in hiring engineers and in growing the team

Essential skills:

Minimum 6 years experience in a Network Engineering role in an enterpise environment
IPv4, TCP, Ethernet, STP, DNS
IGP, specifically OSPF
FHRP (VRRP & HSRP)
VPN (IPSEC & SSL VPN)
vPC and Cisco fabric path
Hardware load balancers (F5 or NetScaler)
Firewalls (Cisco, Fortinet, Checkpoint)
The candidate should be innovative, creative, flexible and self-directed
A strong customer focus is required
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline
Good English verbal and written communication skills

Desired skills
Troubleshooting web stack enviornments
Cacti/Smokeping performance monitoring stacks
BIND9 administration
SAN/NAS experience
Sophos UTM appliances & Remote Ethernet Devices (RED)

Hardware experience - experience in most of the following platforms is essential:
Cisco Catalyst platforms, ie 2960, 3560, 3750
Cisco ISR G2 platform, ie 3900
Cisco ASA Firewall, ie 5520, 5540
Cisco Nexus 5000 family with Nexus 2000 fabric extenders
Fortigate Firewall platform, ie FGT 310B, 620B
Sophos UTM, ie UTM-220, RED50
F5 hardware load balancers, ie LTM 1600
Silverpeak WAN optimisers, ie NX-5700
