I am currently recruiting for a leading global Oil and Gas operator who is offering excellent career opportunities for experienced Instrument Engineers. The position of Senior Instrument Engineer offers a fantastic opportunity for career development on a contract basis, with a major operator. The successful candidate will get to demonstrate their skills as an Instrument Engineer in an exciting working environment.
The Senior Instrument Engineer will provide technical/engineering advice and support in relation to maintenance activities on offshore installations. This position will be primarily onshore in Aberdeen, but will require occasional offshore and onshore site visits.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Ensure highest safety standards and continuity and optimisation of hydrocarbon production
*Provide specialist technical/engineering advice and guidance to site/offshore personnel on the operation and maintenance of plant/equipment ensuring highest safety standards, a timely response to queries and minimal disruption to operations
*Develop and maintain productive and constructive relationships with site-based/offshore personnel, onshore operations/technical teams and external contractors/vendors
*Provide input to the budget preparation process relating to discipline budget
*Contract Representative for nominated contracts and specific scopes of work
*Provides guidance and support to less experienced engineers within discipline team
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
*Suitable engineering qualification (Engineering Degree preferred) with appropriate engineering experience in the oil and gas industry, including offshore/site experience
*Detailed knowledge of legislation/regulations relevant to discipline
*Significant knowledge of offshore/terminal plant and equipment and maintenance systems
*Experience of Instrument maintenance/support to operations
*Recognised level of Company expertise in technical discipline
*Offshore certified or willing to gain offshore certification
