General Accountability:

The Software Automation Analyst reports to the Desktop Management Operations Manager. The Software Automation Analyst is responsible for applying software packaging/sequencing techniques to application and configuration changes, resulting in efficient, automated, distribution processes, that will reliably run in the Client's managed desktop environment.

Specific Accountabilities:

1. Designing, creating, and maintaining programs and scripts to setup business applications, product patches, and updates, to thousands of managed desktops, across many business units, as a seamless, consistent process.
2. Represent the team in coordinating desktop system changes with other support teams, business units, developers, and external vendors.
3. Provide support to the many technologies in use within the Client Environment such as software licensing, security templates, Group Policy, DFS, software automation and distribution.
4. Have a role in the evaluation, and implementation of new technologies/services for software packaging and desktop management.
5. Understands and demonstrates the willingness to promote Acrodex's vision and values

Qualifications (Education/Experience/Skills & Abilities)

1. Diploma in related field or experience necessary
2. Effective communication and business writing skills
3. Experience with Business and functional reporting.
4. Experience with ITSM
5. Experience with supporting Windows XP Professional & Windows 7
6. Experience with Scripting tools such as WinBatch, MS Visual Basic, Wise, Installshield, AdminStudio
7. Experience with application packaging/sequencing for central distribution or application virtualization
8. Knowledge and experience of MS Windows security technologies such as ADS, file and registry ACLs
9. Experience and skill in troubleshooting and problem resolution for software and hardware issues
10. Preferred:
a. ITSM Remedy Queue Management
b. TIL V3 Foundations Certification
c. Ability to develop strong technical documentation and training packages.
d. Experience with Change Management Approval processes.
e. AppV, Sequencing, VMware Knowledge
