A Sr Network Security Engineer is needed for a very large organization known by all households, located downtown, walking distance from the Marta Train Station.

THIS IS AN INDEFINITE CONTRACT!

The Sr Security Network Engineer will walk in to an established infrastructure and will hold the responsibility for network security Engineering to include, upgrades, replacing, troubleshooting and maintaining the security network infrastructure as well as integration projects.

Functions:

  • Design, deploy and maintain a security framework networks using Citrix, Cisco ASA, and/or Checkpoint/Nokia Firewall.
  • Maintain and monitor current Symantec SEP/CSP server.
  • Guiding efforts, and participating in design implementation of Multicasting Mpeg 2 & 4 streaming video over a Cisco and Nortel switched environment
  • Design and Implement OSPF fully meshed switched environments using multi brand Switches, Routers and VPN concentrators
  • Creation and upkeep of documentation
  • Configure and test new Routers, Switches, Video Encoders/Decoders VPN devices and/or Firewalls
  • Modify existing equipment configurations
  • Troubleshoot switched VLANed environments with multiple routing protocols
  • Verify connectivity
  • Troubleshoot Routers and routing protocols
  • Review project tasks and turn around dates
  • Performs detailed analysis of system requirements to determine need
  • Security Engineer for OSPF switched Network
  • Back-up support for all engineering positions within the Networking Group.
  • Defining, documenting, configuring and maintaining the networking environment
  • Working with other Networking Engineers in designing, testing and implementing high-availability, production-ready, network solutions for both internal and external customers
  • Working with other client Networking and Telecommunications Engineering personnel in establishing operational processes and procedures for networking, including remote access and wireless services, OSPF Routing, Multicasting video streaming
  • Working with client Networking Engineers along with
    client/customer Engineers, on other projects as deemed necessary; Ensuring that networking SLA's are consistently met; Working with contractors, vendors, client/customer Engineers and other client Engineers on large-scale network infrastructure projects
  • Recommending enhancements to existing networking systems and infrastructure.
  • Detail oriented, reliable, self-motivated person who prefers a team work environment.
  • Provides daily updates and weekly status reports
  • Recommends short-term alternatives when appropriate
  • Tracks current and future inventory levels
  • Provides Tier 2/3 support
  • Successful candidates should have a solid understanding of hardware and software network configuration and experience interacting with people at a variety of levels. The position requires demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts. We are looking for someone who has a good mix of technology interaction skills and hands-on technical ability.

Required skills:

  • 6 years experience with Cisco Routers and Switches, specifically Cisco 6500, 3750, 3560 Switches; Cisco 3800, 2900, 1900 and 1800 Routers and AS5500 security appliances in an enterprise environment;
  • Nortel 8600 Switches.
  • Experience with a Multicast switched environment over multi brand Switches.
  • OSPF routed switched network
  • 3 years experience with Checkpoint Firewall and Nokia appliances
  • Must have excellent customer service, communication, and teamwork skills
  • CCNP certification (must include certification number in contents of Resume)

Plus skills:

  • CCSP certification
  • CCIE certification
  • CCDP certification
  • MCSE certification, experience with Symantec SEP/CSP Systems
  • Experience with Airespace wireless implementations
  • Experience with routing protocols, specifically OSPF and EIGRP
  • Experienced in Steaming Mpeg 2 & 4 over a multicast switched environment
  • Experience with large fiber optic MAN installations
  • Experience with diagnostic tools and techniques for troubleshooting including packet analysis
  • Familiarity with LAN infrastructure
  • Experience with SSL and IPSEC VPN
  • Experience with Cisco Nexus Platform
  • Experience with Nortel Switches specifically Passport 8600
  • Experience with management and monitoring systems such as CiscoWorks, Solarwinds
  • Experience with Unix
