Job Description:
As a User Experience Designer at our client, you will be responsible for user-centered design to create, evaluate, and modify designs and prototypes in support of evolving Software as a Service (SaaS) applications. You will work closely with the teams that are developing and supporting the software platform as well as a variety of the client’s businesses that will use the platform to create innovative new software product applications.

The ideal candidate possesses skills as a seasoned, experienced user experience designer (information input, user workflow management, and data visualization) and applies user experience concepts to conduct usability prototypes for agile, “short-burst” product development cycles. You will work in a highly collaborative environment with multi-disciplinary teams to drive software service solutions for hardware focused business problems. You thrive in fast pace environments, have excellent analytical and written communication skills, and are adept at building successful relationships while gathering input from internal and external users at all phases of creating innovative Software as a Service (SaaS) products. You will work extensively on cross functional product teams including Hardware Product Managers, Engineering, Sales, and Service, as well as engage the external customer as an active participant in the product development process. You will participate in the user modeling process (such as personas and scenarios) using information gathered during user needs assessment and usability evaluations and interface with internal UX designers and developers during iterative development and design sessions.

Understands the concept of the minimal viable product and leverages Design Thinking principals to creating, driving, participating in, and leading iterative UX development
Strives to create elegant, simplistic designs that make it nearly effortless for customers to understand and navigate through software
Understand customer centric product development and how to engage the customer as a participant in the UX development process
Team-oriented approach to working with everyone, including mentoring, assisting on various tasks, listening, and handling all levels of tasks as needed

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institute or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience with UI/UX design and development
  • 5 years of experience with user interface systems and coding languages, which can include Java, Perl, HTML5, CSS and XML/XS, etc.
  • 2 years of experience with cloud computing, platform and software as a service (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with key stakeholders with confidence and clarity
  • Worked in large/complex software/software service applications and lean software startup
  • Exceptional organization skills to juggle many tasks without losing sight of what’s is most important
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening
  • Due to access to US export controlled data you must be a US citizen or permanent resident
  • Must be willing to work on site in San Ramon (located in the East Bay Area in Northern California)
  • Able to work well with global teams, including time-zone flexibility
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
