Description
The Senior Storage Engineer position is part of the operations team responsible for the 24x7 support of business critical storage systems. This individual will administer, manage, monitor and maintain storage platforms to ensure high levels of data quality, availability, reliability and security. This candidate MUST HAVE Strong Veritas Net Back-Up Experience to be considered for this position.
The desired candidate will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in backup and recovery systems for a large fortune 500 organization. They will evaluate backup and recovery system capabilities and needs. Perform capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning, and diagnose and address performance issues in the backup and recovery system and clients. Develop and execute procedures to ensure that all of the company's electronic data is being backed up in a manner that will allow the recovery of key business systems and electronic data. Troubleshoot backup and recovery failures and implement solutions to correct the root causes. Implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of storage appliances and stored data assets.
Qualifications:
- Must have Extensive Veritas Net Back Up Experience.
- 5+ years of Storage Experience Required.
- Good understanding of storage architecture design techniques, theories, principles, and practices.
- Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting storage Servers and management software.
- Hands-on SAN/NAS/DAS troubleshooting experience.
Desired:
- Certifications in SNIA
- Certified Storage Professional (SCSP);
- EMC Proven Professional Storage Administrator;
- Certified McData SAN Professional (CMSP); or NetApp
- Certified Storage Professional (NACP) Subject Matter Expertise with NetBackup backup and restore technologies.
