We are looking for a talented Web Designer who possesses the following qualifications and skills:
• +3 years in-field experience
• Experience designing layouts for different screen/device types
• Pixel and detail conscious
• Confidence and leadership
• Creative/original designs
• Design craftsmanship
• Ambition and passion for web design
• Strong sense of initiative
• Proficient use of Adobe Creative Suite
The candidate should demonstrate some level of familiarity with the following terms, file formats, and acronyms:
.png, .jpg, .ai, .eps, .pdf, HTML, XHTML, HTML5, DOM, CSS, AJAX, MySQL, jQuery, Javascript, Design, PHP, CSS3, Cross-browser Compatibility, Web Development, SEO, Photoshop, Online Marketing, Social Media, Web Standards, Front-end Development, Client-side Development, User Interface Design, Accessibility, CSS, Information Architecture, Adobe Creative Suite, Website Development, Email Marketing, Web Project Management, ExpressionEngine, Typography, Illustrator, Flash, Apache, Advanced CSS, W3C, Validation, Standards, Semantics, User Experience, Usability, Wire Framing, Copywriting, Mobile Design, Responsive Web Design, JSON, and Google Webmaster Tools.
General Requirements:
- Willing to comfortably and concisely communicate design philosophy/ideas to project manager and/or client
- Present general ideas w/paper + pencil before resorting to on-screen digital copy
- Conceptualize/transform a verbally expressed idea to reality
- Design(s) should always include the use of web-supported fonts/typography
- Designer should always foresee and anticipate various user actions (e.g. Upon user hover or click - menu1 slides down; item description styles change from light to dark background, etc.)
- Photoshop final deliverable file(s) should be easily workable for front-end developer. (Flattened layer styles, repeatable tiles/patterns, excess overflow for cropped/clipped images, transparent background vector/scalable icons, etc.)
- Designer can further expand/build on a pre-established design concept
Additional assets:
- Create scalable vector icons using either Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator
- Icon design experience
- Traditional art/drawing talent
- Ability to transform a hard-copy photograph/image into a vector/shape-based scalable illustration
- Photography skills
