Summary:
Our client is seeking a Voice and Data Network Engineer to support their Network Management Systems along with support of large enterprise network. The successful candidate will become a member of a Network Operations team and primary responsibility will be the day to day support of the Data, VOIP, and Signals running across the network. The candidate will be expected to analyze complicated systems, document application standards, and assure high levels of stability, reliability, and availability of the production network environment consistent with established change control policies and prescribed procedures. Candidate will be expected to work anytime that the need arises. Must be willing to work rotating shifts . There are 7 people in NOC who rotate shifts every two months - you must be flexible working 2nd or 3rd shift. LONG-TERM CONTRACT (12+MONTHS). MULTIPLE OPENINGS!

Responsibilities:

  • Primary duty to take calls from people in the field and work the calls to completion.
  • All work in front of a computer in single room (NOC) testing or configuring equipment
  • Send out new equipment to get installed and repaired.
  • 3rd shift does most of the automation routines
  • Spend time on phone with telco vendors to get a test to run

Qualifications:

  • 10 years hands-on experience with Cisco Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Content Switches, Sniffers Firewalls
  • 5 years hands-on experience in VOIP, Multicast, AAA, CIP, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, frame-relay, TACACS, DNS, DHCP
  • 2 years experience with Network Management Systems such as NNMI, IP, NA, OO, CiscoWorks, CNR, or related systems
  • 4-year College Degree desired, preferably in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong teamwork ethic and customer support focus
  • Working knowledge of Legacy systems preferred
  • Automation a plus
  • Avaya PBX a plus - will consider other PBX experience
  • Must be willing to work rotating shifts
