Commercial Lead - Tax Implementation
Exciting 6 mth assignment working on a high profile policy implementation.
Candidates must be available to start a new assignment at short notice and current security clearance would be beneficial.
Deliverables:
*Design and implement a complex and controversial tax/levy for suppliers within a specific industry
*Specify policy rules, processes and procedures for the calculation, forecasting, collection, and reconciliation of the tax and the associated mechanisms to ensure payments can be made
*Design detailed processes for mutualisation of outstanding debts across suppliers
*Analyse and test evidence, and forms views on the impacts of proposals, which are key in evidencing which policies to deliver
*Work with lawyers on the regulations, consultation on secondary regulations, holding stakeholder workshops, assessment of consultation responses and determining appropriate policy amendments for final regulations
*Advise on the design of the tax and associated issues such as reconciliation of payments at year end with a focus on the impact on businesses (particularly suppliers)
Skills required:
*Track record in policy design and implementation
*Commercial knowledge around supplier contracts and tax systems
*Regulation background (desirable)
*Energy/utilities background could be advantageous
