POSITION OVERVIEW

The EMEA Compliance Consultant works within the Compliance Assurance Program ("CAP") framework and reports to the EMEA Head of Compliance Assurance ("HECA"). The Compliance Consultant is responsible for the creation and delivery of specific parts of a regional compliance assurance program, with an initial focus on business compliance with the Conduct of Business (COBs) and governance rules

The role of the Compliance Consultant is to:
*work closely with the local Subject Matter Experts ("SMEs") who are responsible for the creation and delivery of a compliance program for their jurisdiction;
*ensure common standards and processes are applied where appropriate by the local SMEs in each jurisdiction;
*co-ordinate with the HECA and local SMEs regarding the delivery of relevant sections of the CAP, and agree with relevant stakeholders revised prioritisation of work and allocation of resources;
*co-ordinate and review relevant approvals and reporting of the results of the EMEA CAP (including weaknesses or identified breaches) to senior management, boards and relevant committees;
*outline relevant sections of the CAP to regulators and clients;
*work closely with the business to provide regulatory advice and guidance and help them with implementation of applicable new laws; and
*carry out monitoring of business activities, as the need arises.

The Compliance Consultant also acts as a SME for the UK. In that role the Consultant provides advisory and assurance support to the UK CF10 and the HECA in relation to relevant Financial Conduct Authority's ("FCA") rules. The Consultant will work alongside relevant business and risk partners to ensure that relevant controls are Embedded within the business. The role therefore involves dealing at the highest level with NT management, regulators and clients.

You will be required to deliver a proactive "consultancy" style service to EMEA local compliance officers and Operations partners in the business. The role may include any of the aspects of the day to day responsibilities listed below.

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

Advisory : Acting as Trusted Adviser:
*Timely delivery of briefing note analyses on regulatory developments or existing rules that are clear and relevant to the business;
*Demonstration of challenge to, and guidance on, rule interpretation (initially focussing on conduct of business, governance, securities lending, transitions management, treasury and foreign exchange services) at governance and other meetings or one to ones;
*Produce/assist with the identification and assessment of relevant rule related risks.
Monitoring: Refining methodology to demonstrate compliance with relevant rules:
*Using cross jurisdictional Compliance Risk Assessment information co-ordinate the creation and delivery of an assurance program, initially focusing on the compliance topics set out above;
*Produce clear examples of areas of suggestion for 'deep dive' review and KRI analyses to drive assurance activities.
Training : Embedding relevant rule awareness within the business:
*Deliver relevant training as and when needed to target audience
Regulator relationship: Reinforce assurance program framework with relevant regulators including the FCA, the PRA and Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago ("FRB"):
*Act as lead coordinator on any relevant reviews and provide assistance to other EMEA offices in relation to reviews related to the compliance topics set out above;
*Active participation in relevant meetings with the FCA and PRA to position NT's compliance framework.
Network: Reflecting industry views to the assurance program:
*Maintain an on-going network of compliance contacts in peer firms;
*Share feedback from compliance peer group with relevant partners;
*Demonstrate clear examples of taking discussion points to compliance peer group to gain industry view.

SKIILS/EXPERIENCE

*Proven compliance experience within a Financial Services organisation, particularly with regard to conduct of business, governance, securities lending, transitions management, treasury and foreign exchange services;
*Wider knowledge of the FCA/PRA Handbook;
*Knowledge of compliance regimes in other EMEA jurisdictions beneficial;
*Highly motivated individual with a proven record of problem solving and delivering effective solutions;
*Ability to make and communicate decisions in a clear concise and effective manner;
*Desire to stay ahead of regulatory developments;
*Strong numeric, and excellent written/oral communication skills;
*Strong time management skills, the ability to balance on-going job requirements with ad-hoc projects, and a flexible approach to adapting to a fast-changing business environment;
*Collaborative and consensual approach to work;
*Degree preferred.
