Cognos Developer - Contract - DublinDescription/Summary:
One of my clients is a rapidly growing and has an opening for a Cognos Report Developer/Analyst. The Cognos Report Developer/Analyst would be responsible for the design, development and deployment of multi-dimensional reports using the Cognos Business Intelligence solution.
Job Responsibilities:
Create, enhance and maintain Framework Manager Models to support business requirements
Work with business users to design and develop Cognos BI 10.1 reports using Report Studio with data drill-down and slice-and-dice options
Design and develop complicated reports including sub-reports, graphical reports and well-formatted reports according to user requirements.
Design, implement and administer Cognos securities and BI Portal
Skills Required:
Hands on experience with Cognos BI version 8-10, including Framework Manager, Report Studio and Analysis Studio
Ability to collaborate on a team with infrastructure, data warehouse and business analyst resources, and clearly communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical team members
Knowledge of BI/Data Warehouse concepts, including star schema
Excellent knowledge of MS SQL (2000 and 2008) with ETL, SSIS skills and proven experience of designing and developing RDBMS.
Business process mapping and improving or re-engineering business processes (BPI or BPR)
Business Analyst background would be nice
OOD, SSAS, OLAP, HTML, XML, JAVASCRIPT, ASP.NET (C#) advantageous
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
3-5 years of experience in medium complex data warehouse environment, hands-on Data warehousing project experience and experience in full life cycle Business Intelligence development, implementation, tuning and support.
