Futurelearn is looking for an experienced interface developer to help us build an engaging and innovative education experience online.
Reinventing learning is a tough job and we're going to need the best you have to offer. At the same time, we can offer you the opportunity to work in a small but talented Agile team who will support you in your ongoing development, and expect you to give input on all aspects of the site and development process.
This will initially be a 12 month contract.
You
You’re interested in online learning. You enjoy programming and have several years experience working with HTML, CSS & JavaScript, and understand how modern browser technology can help us push the interface forwards.
We're also using jQuery, SASS, HAML, and Jasmine for testing, so it's a bonus if you are confident with one or more of these. If not, then we'll help you pick these up quickly.
It'd be great if you had some experience with Agile or Ruby on Rails, but it’s not essential (the super-talented Ruby team here does a lot of pairing, and you'll be expected to teach as well as learn).
The most important thing you could show us is a deep enthusiasm for and love of developing delightful web experiences, along with the technical chops and know-how to make it happen.
Salary:
40-60k/year depending on experience
