My client is looking for a Firmware Engineer join on an initial 6 month contract.

The Role:

- Firmware Engineer

- Feedback to Manager & Team

Required:
- Development experience with a resident firmware implementation: e.g. UEFI, OpenFirmware, Simple Firmware Interface or FreeBIOS.
- Knowledge of mechanisms for OS kernel generalization
- In-depth knowledge of System Architectures including OS kernel internals.
- Experience of the software lifecycle: has taken complex software from concept, to product, and into maintenance.
- Extensive experience of software development, including platform bring-up, and low-level debugging.
- Experience of HW/SW Interfaces at the Platform Level.
- Strong C language skills, preferably with experience of multiple compilers. Some assembler language knowledge a plus.

- Development of boot-time drivers: e.g. SATA, Ethernet, USB, Flash.
Desirable:
- ACPI experience.
- Windows or Linux Kernel Experience.
- Experience of Tianocore codebase, and of edk or edk2 development.
- Understands embedded Tools and Debug.
- Is familiar with ARM architectures.
- Experience of working on open source projects.
