Educational Requirements: MUST possess a Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited College, with MIS/Computer Science focuses/majors being HIGHLY-PREFERRED
W2/1099/C2C Requirements: MUST be able to bill on a W2 basis. NO 1099 or C2C options are available at this time.
ABOUT THE POSITION
GTN Technical Staffing is currently seeking four SCRUM Masters for a Long-Term Contract opportunity in Montvale, NJ. The SCRUM Master will be driving change and helping teams change their process effectively. Ideally you will have served as a Scrum Master in their past experience, if you have PSM 1 certification even better (but not necessary).
The SCRUM Master will:
- Be the SCRUM Master for one-to-two SCRUM teams with a focus on guiding the teams towards improving the way they work
- Facilitate sprint planning, retrospective and sprint demos
- Assist the product owner with keeping the backlog groomed
- Ensure cross-team coordination
- Reach out to the larger company network for impediment removal
- Maintain relevant metrics that help the team see how they are doing
- Coach and mentor other scrum masters on your product team - ensure that the ways of working are consistent across the teams
- Liaise between the developers, testers and User Experience/Visual Designers and foster better communication between the disciplines
- Act as a project manager when necessary and take responsibility for managing dependencies between your team and third parties or between your team and other Scrum teams
- Strengthen the presence of your team as an Agile centre of excellence
- Actively contribute to the company's Agile and Lean Community
- Keep the rest of the company network aware of your activities
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of experience in the following skill sets
- Knowledge of the software development life cycle/SDLC
- Certified Scrum Master/Scrum Practitioner
- At least three years experience working in an Agile environment, preferably in a variety of situations
- Communicative and social - Must be able to communicate well with teams
- Facilitative - Must be able to lead and demonstrate value-add principles to a team
- Assertive - Must be able to ensure Agile/Scrum concepts and principles are adhered to, must be able to be a voice of reason and authority, make the tough calls
- Enthusiastic - Must be high-energy
- Conflict resolution - Must be able to facilitate discussion and facilitate alternatives or different approaches
- Attitude of empowerment - Must be able to lead a team to self-organization
- Attitude of transparency - Must desire to bring disclosure and transparency to the business about development and grow business trust
