Proteus Europe operating as an employment agency, is currently seeking an Embedded Engineer with experience in both Software and Hardware Design for a client based in Hampshire.

Job Purpose:

Development of PC/embedded software and hardware solutions for a broad range of laser products. Engineering involvement will include full product lifecycle from specification, design and development, prototyping, verification and validation and transfer to manufacture.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Working in a multidisciplinary team as a Senior Engineer providing embedded software and hardware solutions
Verification and validation of new designs to demonstrate world class reliability and to ensure compliance to appropriate standards.

Essential:
  • Minimum 5 years industrial experience as an electronics engineer with proven experience of:
  • ARM based microprocessors.
  • Embedded software using C, including debugging
  • Digital circuit design, logic, interfacing, microprocessors, programmable logic.
  • Writing industry-capable Windows applications for hardware control via serial communications (using visual techniques).
  • Digital interfaces such as RS232, RS485, I2C, USB, Ethernet.
  • Familiar with CAD design tools e.g. Orcad.
  • Good I.T. skills.


Preferable:
  • Demonstrable design compliance with appropriate safety and EMC standards and CE approvals.
  • Experience of customer support.
  • Experience of code configuration management.


Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2.1 in a relevant Bachelor degree in Electronic/ Electrical Engineering.
