Description
A large, high profile organisation in Perth is currently seeking a Senior Desktop Support Analyst with experience using VDI and ThinApp to join their team on an initial 6 month contract.
On a day to day basis the successful candidate will be responsible for:
Providing second and third level support to staff
Acting as a point of escalation for the Service desk team
Desktop Application Packaging
Prioritising and resolving problems at the 2nd and 3rd level escalating complex issues where appropriate;
Recording and documenting problem resolution in accordance with standard procedure
Recording system changes and upgrades
Maintenance of systems and working upon prevention against further issues
Monitoring software applications, hardware and remote connections
Providing support for System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM)
Liaising with customers to identify, diagnose and resolve Information Systems issues
Assisting in the development of IT policy and strategy to improve service
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
A minimum 3 years experience working in a level 2 Support Analyst position
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong customer service skills with sound organisation skills
Good technical awareness to set up password permissions, folder access etc
Experience with VDI, ThinApp and supporting virtualisation technologies preferably VMWare
Good knowledge and experience supporting Microsoft Windows (XP, Vista etc)
Strong understanding of fixing hardware related issues - laptops, desktops, printers, Routers, Blackberries
High attention to detail
Solid team player
