Operating System(s) - Solaris(5 years), Veritas Cluster Services(1 year). Programming Language(s)-PL/SQL(7 years), Unix Scripting(7 Years). Database Expertise - Oracle 9 or below(7 years), Oracle 10G(2 years), Performance Tuning(7 years), RMAN(3 years), RAC(2 years). Other-10g Grid Control(2 years), Data Pump(2 years).
Strongly Desired:
Other - Data Guard(2 years). Overview - DBA will support Oracle Enterprise databases primarily in a UAT/Pre-Production environment. Support of Development, Test and Production databases may also be required.
General duties include:
Developing robust Unix Shell Scripts to support routine maintenance activities. Analyzing and resolving Oracle errors and warnings. Using Trouble ticket system to update and receive tickets. Reporting project activities and time. Responding to pager and resolving problems after normal duty hours. UAT system requirements include: Performing database changes associated with new product releases. Refreshing numerous databases with test and/or production data to facilitate testing. Performing Oracle upgrades associated with new product releases. Coordinating database changes with other DBAs and UAT Support team. Design, documenting and implement processes/procedures for maintaining all DBA aspects of the UAT environment. The databases being supported are high volume and large in size. Expertise in query tuning, partitioning, database re-orgs, and overall performance tuning is a requirement.
