IT Support, 1st Line/2nd Line

Temporary Role (initial 6 week contract)

Our Company is an international accommodation provider specialising in quality service and competitive rates. We are a growing Company with a dynamic and vibrant team. We are seeking a 1st Line/2nd Line Support Engineer to start immediately, reporting directly to the Network & Infrastructure Manager in providing support to the users, network and Servers of the Company. 

Based at the Head Office in North London for an initial period of 6 weeks (with the potential to renew for a longer period), you will be responsible for 1st and 2nd line support for user, PC and server queries, setting up and maintenance of devices and network troubleshooting to ensure the best use of the Company's resources and expenditure.

Duties and responsibilities of 1st Line/2nd Line IT Support: 

  • 1st and 2nd line support for User, PC and Server queries
  • Create/Delete/Modify users on all our platforms, including adding/modifying people as stakeholders on In-House Application
  • Installation of new PC's, configuring from the core, connect to the network etc.
  • Set up workstations, help with moves etc.
  • Maintenance of printers (keep toners up to date, order new ones, drivers, install, troubleshoot etc.)
  • Network troubleshooting - slow Internet, slow emails, connection issues, corrupt network cables, ordering new ones and replacing etc.
  • Remote access support
  • VPN issues on laptops, IP/DNS errors
  • Keep the system emails updated, delete old users, disable/enable new/old users, public folders (both on the email and on the system platforms)
  • Exchange, domain controller, AD work
  • Cable Patching

Essential skills and experience for 1st Line/2nd Line IT Support: 

  • Working technical knowledge of and extensive application support experience with network and PC operating systems: Microsoft Server, Windows, MS Office
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database, email and Internet, use of Internet as a research tool)
  • Highly effective inter-personal skills, with ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people at different levels of seniority and from different cultures and backgrounds
  • Flexibility and ability to respond quickly and adequately to new sets of priorities
  • Strong team working ability
