Leading Retail Bank in Manchester looking for a Risk SME to provide support to the design and risk framework implementation within the General Insurance area.

This is a demanding environment, whereby they are aiming to implement an effective yet simple Risk Management Framework whilst supporting the Group Wide risk Target Operating Model. The role will be to support this project from a Risk, Control and Reporting SME perspective.

The key deliverables are around the implementation of Risk Policies, namely on capturing of Operational Procedures, and the creation of a Remediation Plan where gaps are identified. The incumbent will also be required to understand and translate Solvency II Principles, Rules and Guidelines into Business Requirements, gain agreement and track compliance.

The Risk SME is also tasked with ensuring the Executive Forums are aligned to Risk Framework requirements. To be considered one will need strong knowledge of risk frameworks, controls and analyst experience.

Role Requirements:
Responsible for working in a fast paced, challenging Risk Management environment carrying out the following key activities:
*Collating, assessing and recording Risk Management information;
*Carry out a gap analysis against Level 1, 2 and 3 (including implementation measures) of the Solvency II Directive;
*Review and understand Solvency II requirements;
*Design business level compliance requirements based on organisational design, size and complexity;
*Discuss SII requirements with Business SMEs to agree an implementation plan;
*Review and assist with progress against implementation plan;
*Interact with business to draft Operational Procedures;
*Carry out process mapping as and when required;
*Support the Risk Workstream in the production of the IMAP submission;
*Assist in approval process and carry out remediation work;
*One of the roles will also require partly to assist in:
oUsing templates to record assessments and collecting control evidence;
oAllocating probability and severity grades to the individual risks in line with risk ranking methodology;
oKeeping up to date with technical aspects affecting risk assessments, eg FSA update, Group Methodology etc;
oDocument the key risks related to each product in line with high level Group Principles, Policies and Guidelines;
oReview descriptions for control ensuring they are aligned with risks; and.Co-ordinate Conduct Risk methodologies and developments.

Useful experience:
*The ideal candidate will have General Insurance business experience with a good understanding of the risk analysis;
*Conduct risk and/or Treating Customer Fairly experience is highly desirable for one role;
*Ability to work at both on their own and as part of team
*Ability to manage time, prioritise and meet deadlines
*Solvency II Pillar II
*Extensive Risk Management knowledge within General Insurance although strong experience of Risk Management outside General Insurance may be considered;
*Thorough grasp and understanding of Financial Risks eg Market, Credit, Insurance, Capital and Liquidity;
*Wider background than just Operational Risk preferably with implementation and embedding experience.
